Data recovery from memory cards is another growing sector in the data recovery business. For MAC users, it is more critical when photos are lost from a memory card. There are many companies and software tools that recover photos from corrupt, formatted or deleted photos from memory cards. Where we excel in this area is when the photo card is no longer accessible by the operating systems or the memory card is completely dead.

We do this by removing the physical memory chips from the device, read them using proprietary hardware and reassemble an image of the original memory card and then recover the data from that image. This is not as easy as it sounds, and in a very few cases it is still not possible. Most manufacturers use wear levelling algorithms which mean that each block of data is written to an equal number of times. So when you take photographs, the blocks may not go in the expected sequence and therefore need reassembling before recover is possible.

Our in house developed software helps us to examine the fragments of data and put them in the correct sequence which usually results in >99 percent recoverable data.
